Abstract

Divergence analysis among fifty genotypes for yield and yield contributing traits was carried out by using mahalanobis D2 statistics. The maximum intercluster distance was observed between cluster XI and XIII (16.03). The maximum intracluster distance was reported in cluster XII (9.75). Based on cluster mean performence and intercluster divergence, it was concluded that the genotypes from cluster XI and XII, cluster XI and XIII could produce desirable segregants through hybridization programme.
